Ashley Pittman, PT, DPT

Ashley joins our team at Edge Pilates as a physical therapist utilizing Pilates method principles in her treatment plan. After taking a continuing education course on Pilates mat work early in her career, Ashley found the principles effective in treating a wide range of her patients. Towards the end of last year, she decided to further her knowledge base in all things Pilates and is currently finishing up a teacher training course to become a Therapilates practitioner.

Ashley completed her graduate studies in 2009 with a doctorate in physical therapy from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport. She completed her undergraduate training with a bachelor of sciences in kinesiology at LSU in Baton Rouge, LA (yes, home of the Tigers!). Since that time, she has worked in a variety of settings and locations until opening up her own practice in 2015. Ashley has spent the last 5 years of her career specializing in the treatment of adolescents, adults and seniors diagnosed with scoliosis, kyphosis and other spinal deformities and is uniquely qualified as she utilizes the treatment methods to manage her own scoliosis. Ashley’s main goal for patients is to be able to have the quality of life they want at any age and stage and feels a little guidance along the way can keep most people successful in achieving that goal. Ashley and her husband of 10 years started a family and their love of travel and all things outdoors brought them to the PNW.

Her certifications include the following:
-Schroth method for the treatment of scoliosis, kyphosis and other spinal deformities in both adults and children
-Sportsmetrics from Cincinnati Sports Medicine for ACL prevention and return to sport programs
-Dry Needling (currently WA is 1 of 7 states that has laws restricting PTs from performing dry needling)
-SEAS (Scientific Exercises Approach to Scoliosis)- children and adolescents

Please see our “Physical Therapy” tab for more information and decide if a PT visit is right for you.
